WRESTLERS LOSE CLOSE MATCH
12/12/2007 - Pioneer 36, La Habra 42
The Titans wrestlers won 6 matches by pins, but it wasn't enough to make up 24 points given away in forfeits as host Pioneer (1-1) loses to La Habra.
Winning for Pioneer were Robert Villa 125 LB, Jay Montano 130 LB, Chris Silva 135 LB, David Andrade 152 LB, Axel Garcia 171 LB, and Art Alverez 215 LB. The score was tied at 36 going into the final match. Titan Hwt Miguel Torres was leading in his first match ever when an error resulted in a fall and the match.

Alvaro scores pin in his first ever Varsity Wrestling match, against Bell gardens. The Titan Wrestlers had four pins while beating Bell Gardens in their nonleague season opener.
TITANS' PALACIOS NAMED DRL OFFENSIVE MVP
Ronnie Palacios, the Titans' 6'2", 180 pound JR Quarterback was named the 2007 Del Rio League Offensive Player of the Year. Palacios led Pioneer to a 6-4 record and a tie for third in a wild DRL season that saw the Titans just miss making the CIF playoffs. Palacios was the only DRL QB to finish in Top 100 in State at 96th. Many who finished above him with 200 more yards played 12 games. In League play only, Palacios ranks 42nd in State. Also ranks 54th in Total Offense. Palacios threw for 385 yds and 4 TDs in DRL closing win over La Serna. Also named to All-League 1st Team from Pioneer were WR Matt Botello, and DL Arturo Alvarez. TE Andre Ortega, WR Gavin Ramirez, and FS Steven Real were named to the All-League 2nd Team.
TITANS PREVAIL AT LA SERNA
LIGHT THE TORCH! The Titans are back. With their backs against the wall, Pioneer defeated No. 5 ranked La Serna, 37-21, to force the DRL into a three-way tie for third and a potential automatic play-off spot in CIF. We're having a party out here in Florida. Great job, coaches and team. Pioneer is now 6-4 on the year and deserving of the automatic spot or the At-Large spot at the very least. We will anxiously await the Del Rio Leagues decision.
